So I pulled apart a computer that I've had for a while and decided to put a new hard drive in it and install windows xp. I started the setup, then pushed ENTER to start installing when I got an error message saying that I didn't have a hard drive. So I went into setup and it has the correct information, I even ran a diagnostics, that concluded that everything was ok. But I'm still getting the message. Please help!

Is this a fresh install of XP? As in not just overwriting the old OS.

Yes, its a fresh install.

Well, my first thought is that your OS doesn't know that you have a new hard drive because you haven't installed it. But you can't install it due to the fact that for all intents and purposes you don't have an OS right now...hmmm. Let me do some research. If somebody else comes along with a fix, great! If not, I'll see what I can find.
