Okay, heres the situation. I was being stupid and adventurous with my computer and decided to make a new account on my computer (XP) and connect to it remotely with my other computer (Vista). After I was done, I deleted the newly created user account and it was all good. The computer stayed on for several days until being turned off last night before bed. When I turned on the computer this morning it botted up and when it went to the logon screen had deleted the main administrator account name "Administrator" and the other account I created was still there named "Pwnage" and now its the administator account. The old account is gone now and there are NONE of the old files on this new account. I have performed a system restore but it says it cant return to the date ( I tried several different dates to restore to. ) There were extremely important tax files, family pictures, word documents, etc, on the computer and it would be EXTREMELY appreciated if you could help me return it to its original state. I'm only thirteen years old and this was my parents computer and I messed up pretty bad this time so I really need some help as to where I'm to go from here. PLEASE HELLPPP MEEE.

I do not have answer for you at the moment, except for this.

I feel you should tell your parents what you have done, and why you did it. You have to be honest with them, especially if those important files have not been backed up to disk or external device...

Hey Par, welcome to PCHF. Arctos is right Par.

Basically, all system restore does is return critical system files and settings only. It does not restore personal files, applications and profiles. You would need a disk that would be able to hold copies of all your data for each restore point, could take up several terrabytes of data for some people.

When an account is deleted, you are asked if you would like to keep all of your documents and settings. If you selected "No" at this point, you will find all of your files in c:\documents and settings\profile name\my documents. If you selected "Yes", then using recovery software, such as R-Studio is the only thing that is going to work. Unfortunately, this software comes with a price tag. It is important that if the data has been deleted, and you intend to recover it, that you don't mess around with the disk any further. The more data is written to the disk, the more chance that these files will be overwritten (because they can be at any time in a deleted state).

Windows needs an Administrator account. It is an account that has additional permissions that allow you to take ownership of files, folders and manage users in an emergency. What I would suggest is to create a new user account (with a completely different name to what you have used previously). Once a new user account had been created, Windows will automatically start using this new account instead of the Administrator one.
