Unhappy Unexplained video corruption problem.

My computer's never given me any problems quite like this. I'm using an ATI Radeon 9200 SE card, and I'm getting these odd corruption problems. Sometimes it's so severe (like now) that my whole screen is affected. I have the latest drivers for my card, too. This is driving me insane.

Hello and welcome to PCHF

have you checked the connections to the card, or for dust and dirt? also check the fan is spinning as it should. that could all be worth checking out.

i am using the same card and have never experienced problems like this; do you think it could be being caused by a particular program or game? i have seen something similar after running some games before.

make sure os/drivers are up to date, or it may be an idea to use an older/alternative driver for the card and see if that fixes the issue.

regards,
Pgh

Hey Guys,

@ Ceeb, my welcome to PCHF as well. The answers to Pgh's questions and suggestions, will be helpful in troubleshooting the problem.

Also, does this happen all of the time or just during certain programs?

Have you checked out your memory, and temps?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Hey Guys,

@ LGW,could possibly be poor connection too.

Can you check your card is fully seated in its slot.make sure external connections are fully pushed in and could you try a diffrent cable. It could just be a connection problem.

JB.
