Ran this scanner thingy, but dont know what, if anything to do with the results.
Can anyone offer some truthful/honest professional advice.
If I am advised to do something I really should not I will not know how to rectify the problem it may create.
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a terrific team of techs here, and I am certain we can help you, but you might want to tell us what kind of problems you are having.

If you are concerned about a malware infection, why don't you follow the PreWork in my signature, and post the resulting logs back here, then we can get the Security Team to take a look and see what's going on. I'm also going to move your thread to the XP forum, it will never be found here.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW

Just to let you know, I have run over that report and it gives no indication of malware. This does not, however, mean you do not have malware on your system. I would suggest that you do indeed follow the prework link in LGW's signature.

what are all of the RED files in the report, do i need to delete these files or where it says cannot be found, do i need to replace them.
If you go to 'switch to full report' i think they are in purple.
Who ever said 'computers are childs play' he/she mut have known some very intelligent children.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks

Nothing is in Red, it is all in purple, which essentially means nothing (just unchecked, and I know the apps in question). Don't delete anything.

Thanks for that.
Its obvous some files only show red in the original report.
A lot of them were for driver files not found or missing.

Is there a 'totally free' program for checking/updating drivers, I have been to the 'update windows' site and done all of thei update, except IE7 and media Player 11.

I tried one which did a check and advised missing drivers but then wanted £40 to install them, although it stated 'free scan ad downloads'.
The internet must be the only place where you an advertise something for free and then charge for it, although this is in breach of the advertising and retail act.
thanks

Hi ladygreenwitch,
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunalely I think this would be a bit to complicated for me, I guessed your signiture is the info at the bottom of your reply, guessed at it when I saw the prework link as per the reply. Could not get to grips with the 'stuff' when i selected the link.
Its a pity computer manufacturers dont make things simple, also what does this mean:I'm also going to move your thread to the XP forum, it will never be found here. You may be able to help me with the Driver check and download question I have just listed.
