Default Adding PCI SLOTS?

The dumbest question ever asked.....Is there any easy way to add additional PCI slots to a motherboard? Is there a Y adapter or anything like this? I want to install two sound cards and only have one available PCI slot unless I remove the modem. Any ideas?

No sorry, I dont believe you can. The motherboard only has so many IRQs, and I dont think there are any of those kind of adaptors anyway. You may try a USB sound card depending on your application type.

Thanks, I was afraid that was the answer. What I'm thinking of doing is removing the modem and using that slot, then getting a USB modem. I guess they make those, right?

I've got DSL but I still need a modem to program the security gates in our community. This can only be done using a modem. I'm recording 16 track music tracks using Cubase software and this is why I'm working towards using the two 8 channel PCI sound cards I own. This is why I need two slots as it seems these are the best sound cards for this purpose and interface perfectly with a 16 track mixing board.

Guess, it's never easy! Plan B is to find a computer with a mother board that offers 3 PCI slots. They exist, I was just trying to utilize the equipment I already have without spending a lot of money. Thanks for all your help.
