Got into BIOS. Shows CPU temp there as about 43 degrees, not as low as I had hoped, but I guess I'm just not going to get any cooler. I guess I'll just run the game and see what happens. I'd like to test the lowest and highest temps, but still can't get any program in Windows to pull up the temperature of the CPU. I contacted XFX in regards to possibly fixing this. Worst comes to worst, the ThermalTake Smart Case Fan came with a temperature reading that I can plug into the fan and motherboard that attaches to the cpu with some thermal tape. I guess I can always resort to that if need be.

Hey Legend,That is really interesting. Do you get error messages from all of the utilities? What programs have you tried? Looking forward to hearing from you, TTFN LGW

Nope, no error messages. BIOS records the CPU temp and Fan Speed, but the programs do not record either of them. Also does not pick up the voltages, while BIOS does. I've tried the nVidia System Monitor that came with the motherboard, and also tried my version of Everest Ultimate Edition, which worked wonders with the last motherboard, even picked up the aux temps on that one haha. But nothing with this board. No fan speeds, temps, or voltages in both programs. It's very strange cause it is all there in BIOS. So until I can get a program to register them, I can't tell how hot my CPU gets while gaming. Hmm. Still waiting on that response from XFX. Been well over 12-13hours since I posted it. They have a response ratings system, definitely won't be getting more than 3 stars out of me so far, maybe less, haha.

I'm going to send this one out to the Staff at Large, one of them may have another utility for you to try. Keep an eye out for their posts. TTFN LGW

Hello try this temp scanner:Download Core Temp 0.99.3 - A compact, no fuss, small footprint program that monitors CPU core temperature - Softpedia
Ok I just had a thought, are your fans connected to mainboard or main power supply?

The CPU Fan and 1 other system fan are connected to the mainboard. The other 2 fans are connected to the power supply. The other 2 fans I don't really mind, and the 1 fan I can live without knowing its speed. I just really like having as much info regarding the CPU Fan and the Temps as possible. And right now, I'm getting none. By the way, mainboard only has 1 system fan plug in on it, sadly. |

Why I asked about fans is speedfan dont register the fans if they are connected direct to power supply.
My fans are connected to power supply not my mainboard. I was just reading through your thread and trying to see if I could pickup on anything about the freezing. Could this possibly be the hard drive?Have you run CHKDSK on it? I am proberly totaly wrong on the hard drive. But maybe worth a try? But what you seeem to describe is like when a CD gets stuck in the CD drive of your sterio freezing buzzing or squealing sound.Like either the drive is failing or disk is corrupt or dirty?
