Hello PC Expert, welcome to PCHF.
Please can you post the full error message, which normally comes with an error code, or post a screenshot of this error? |

the error message says
internal system error occured please refer to the dxerror.log and directx.log in windows folder to determine the problem but the problem is dxerror.log and directx.log is not in C:\windows\ like it says in the error message otherwise i would post them here. i wil search for them and if i find them i will post them. but in the meantime i would like it if you would try to find out the problem if you can. thank you!

To be honest PC Expert, we are all volunteers here, so you will need to be as descriptive as possible with your replies. If you require help, then help us to help you. There could be a large number of possible issues at this point, but I don't see why you would require DirectX to install Service Pack 3? or was it something else you downloaded? What version of DirectX are you trying to install, and what version do you currently have installed? The log file should point you in the right direction, otherwise we will be firing blank, and we will never know what caused this issue in the first place. Please can you use the search feature in windows explorer to search for the file dxerror.log.
However, you are correct, it should be in the c:\windows folder. If the installer was not able to install DirectX nor able to produce the log file, this may suggest a permissions issue. Please make sure that you are logged on under a Computer Administrator account, or as the Administrator itself. |
