Hi

I recently formatted my Hdd for fresh WinXP install, I re-partitioned etc and installed XP with no problems.

On the first proper boot I get an error (after post screens) saying something about intel pxe \ dhcp.
It then starts to look for a DHCP boot device (Im guessing this is a network boot)
It then says no media connected etc..

I can bypass this error by booting from the XP disc, but I was wondering if there is a way to get rid of this error or to some how create a network boot device?

Any help will be gratefully received.

Hi there and welcome to PC Help Forum.

Go into your BIOS and change the boot order, placing the hard drive at the top of the list. You could also go into the network card properties and disable PXE boot.
