Hey,
I'm hoping to get your recommendation regarding which type of Windows OS i should use with my K9n SLI V2 motherboard and AMD Dual Core Processor 4400+
I fairly recently bought a new K9n SLI V2 motherboard. Since this motherboards installation i haven't been able to get Windows XP to install on my computer. I did get a copy of Linux Ubuntu64 running on my machine. I'm just trying to get some advice on how to get a versian of Windows running. I've already tried removing various cards and memory chips from my machine to see if the OS was hitching up on one of the cards or something.
So I'm down to buying a new copy of Windows i think. would buying a new copy of CP 32-bit work *(ihave a 64-bit CPU) or do I need 64-bit? Or do i need to stop using XP and just get Vista? And do I need 32 or 64-bit Vista?
Any help is appreciated!!
Thanks a lot,
Tatums

Hello and welcome to PCHelpForum.
Could you explain what the problems are with installing XP and your computer specs would be good also.Go to "User CP" and fill out your computer specs and check box show others. Your CPU is compatable with 32 bit OS or 64 bit OS. The choice is yours in what you install you can but 64 bit XP. Your problems may extend from using older hardware on this new board.

If you have 2 gig of ram I would personally run vista 32 bit (oh hark the we hate vista crew starting now but they just cant use it
) in the unlikely event of running 4 gig of ram I would run 64 bit vista. Make sure you delete all partition information off the drive and start again when you do decide |
