Thumbs up PC will not boot

(a) When I tried to start my pc I got the following message " Warning window has detected a registry / configuration error use Scanreg to correct this error "but the pc don't start so I can't run Scanreg

What can I do now .?
(b) I tried a second time and got the following message " System Configuration data update error
0251: System CMOS checksum bad- Default configuration used.
press F1 to set up - F2 to resumed

George when was the last time you replaced the BIOS battery?They should be replaced avery two years or earlier if damaged,example power outage could cause damage.

I checked the battery and it was good I replaced it anyway now I am getting the following message " Register file was not found.Registry Services may be inoperative for this session.
Xms Cache problem. Registry service may be inoperative this session.
A device file that is specified in the SYSTEM. INI file is damaged. It may be need to run windows.
You may need to run window setup program again if the file is included in another software package,you may need to reinstall the software that uses the file.

I think you need to reinstall or repair windows.
