Angry Installing XP on RAID 1

I recently bought a new PC and have tried for weeks to restore my backup files from my old computer. Everytime I attempt to install Windows, it doesn't recognize any harddrives. I have tried using the F6 method to install the drivers for the Intel Matrix Storage Manager, but I always get a BSOD after the step where it says "Loading Windows". I googled the stop error and found this link.

Advanced troubleshooting for "Stop 0x0000007B" errors in Windows XP

This is my guess to what the problem is:

A device driver that the computer boot controller needs is not configured to start during the startup process.

OR

A device driver that the computer boot controller needs is corrupted.

I'm going to use a new floppy and redownload the drivers, so any thoughts on how to deal with the first problem? Any thoughts are appreciated.

P.S. Could it be the wrong driver altogether? While my RAID configurator does say the Intel thing, I also get a message about jmicron?!

Hello and welcome to PCHelpForum.

Are these hard drives both SATA or IDE or one of each?

Try only connecting one had drive as a main one.Leave the other disconnected.

Load fail safe defaults in BIOS and try to format again.

You can try and boot into recovery console and in command prompt run CHKDSK to check the hard drive is ok.

They are identical, and are SATA.

Fail safe defaults? What are those?

Recovery console? There is no OS on the hard drive, so this isn't an option right?

Oh yeah, it says AHCI BIOS is not installed.

Interestingly enough, it seems that I have no bios. I understand that that is insane, but there is never a screen that says something like press F2 for setup. Instead, I have...

1. some graphics card BIOS
2. Shuttle Screen
3. AHCI Option ROM BIOS
which says something like Hard Drive 1 and 2 are in RAID, and AHCI BIOS not installed
4. jMicron for DVD I believe
5. Verifying DMI Pool Data..........Update Success.

Here is full stop error (is consistent): stop 0x0000007B (0xF78B2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Ok lets start again.

You bought a new computer, wich operating system does it have installed?

So the new computer was up and running untill you tried to use the old hard drive?

So the new computer has SATA hard drive and the old is?

Are both new computer and the older hard drive got the same operating system on?

Is the old hard drive IDE or SATA?

Are you trying to install the operating system from the old hard drive?

Or are you using new operating system and installing old hard drive as a slave?

Have you setup these hard drives correctly internaly?

Main hard if botth SATA one would be in port 0 and other in port 1.

If the old hard drive is IDE what setup do you have for it,as in jumper settings or is it connected to an IDE lead that also contains CD/DVD rom drives?

How to troubleshoot "Stop 0x0000007B" error messages in Windows 2000

I need more information on the setup of the system.
