Default Restrict copying of file or Folders

Is it possible in Windows XP or through the use of Third Party software to restrict the copying of a file or folder which have read or write access. I mean making the users read & write the file but making them unable to copy the file to their local computer or any other media drives..

Thanks..!

No this is not possible. If for example it is a Microsoft Office file, if they can open the file, they can select save as and save it to their local hard drive and have a copy of it there.

With Vista you can disable usb thumb drives but they could still email the file to another email account if they really wanted the data.

Or you could just get thin client terminals if this is really a concern. Please see links below for more information on this. They are not designed for a home network, they are more companies.
