Windows XP/2000 - Bigger Hard drive posted in the Operating Systems forums; I want to replace my ' C' drive with a bigger one ( This hard drive was in another pc and I format it so there is nothing on it ...

I want to replace my ' C' drive with a bigger one ( This hard drive was in another pc and I format it so there is nothing on it )
Can anyone advise how to install window xp on it , I have a new window xp disk, and will window xp boot up without new drivers. ?

George if this was origonaly a window 98 computer then you can proberly only fit upto an 80 gig hard drive.

Is this the case?

It only 60G but I another 40G which I will use as slave.
What I really want to know is how to go about installing xp on the new hard drive and if I need to get any drivers before installing the window xp.?

XP CD as install disk comes with preloaded drivers wich are used to get the computer up and running.

After install is completed it is recommended going to manufacturers website and downloading latest drivers and installing them.

To install XP you enter BIOS/Setup and set first boot decice to CD rom put in XP install disk save and exit.
