Exclamation TASK MANAGER is EMPTY

I only have 512 mb Ram and I know that’s not much. I'm saving to upgrade to at least a gig but until then, I usually shut down unnecessary processes before running a demanding Editing program (Avid) or playing a demanding game (The Sims) so it doesn’t run choppy or slow. About a week ago, I hit CNTRL+ALT+Delete to bring up the task manager like always and THERE IS NO "PROCESSES" TAB! Huh? Also NO "PERFORMANCE” or "NETWORKING" tabs. Only the "APPLICATIONS" tab remains. What gives? I don't know why it disappeared but is there anyway I can get those back?

Hello ennoidyam and welcome to PCHF
If you open Task Manager, Double click the border near the top and the tabs should appear again.

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

try:

XP click start/run/type in box taskmgr.exe hit ok.

Vista click start/all programs/accessories/type in box taskmgr.exe hit ok.

See what happens.

Have you tried a system restore? To before this happened?

Hey, I feel like Homer Simpson!

I followed your advice and just clicked the border of the task Manager and "Voila"!

"Doh"!

Thanks! You guys saved me from spending 40 bucks to get some nerd from the geek squad to come out and tell me the same thing!
