Angry Fan Runs Constantly

Sony Vaio with an Asus MB. Been running XP Home no prob. Installed XP Pro and now the fan runs constantly. Reboot to XP Home and fan shuts off after bootup as usual. But it runs constantly with XP Pro. Any ideas, it's annoying! Thanks from a new member!

Welcome to PCHF.

While booted into XP Pro, suggest you go to DriverAgent.com Fix Your Driver Problems Instantly with DriverAgent.

After the scan is done, click on the IE Page at the top of your IE window, then click on Save As...
You want to save the report in the .mht format.
Save the scan report to your desktop (that way it will be easier to find).

Attach the driver report to your next reply.

How do I attach a file? I'll tell you.

To attach files to a reply, look under the Message text window, you'll see a button that says Manage Attachments.
Click on the button. Now click on the browse button and browse to your desktop to select the previously saved file.

Default Re: Fan Runs Constantly

All drivers are updated. DriverAgent likes everything. It has an 'Incomplete Detection' for my Hauppauge TV tuner but I have the current drivers from the Hauppauge site. That's the only add-in hardware I have. Maybe I'll pull it tonight to test. PC Wizard show all the temp sensors are in a good range so we seem to be seeing them correctly. I don't mind sending a screen shot of Driver Agent but they're all good. Note, not sure where the 'PC Experience' rating comes from but 'Illiterate' doesn't fit ... been doing this a long time.. But I couldn't identify a registry entry that looked related. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Gandalf.
