Default system32\DRIVERS\PCI.SYS error

after installing some raid drivers for my computer i tried turning it on and it wont start windows displaying that pci.sys is missing or corrupt.

i looked around on the web for a solution but i dont have a system recovery disc nor do i have a floppy disc drive. i cant seem to get into dos to rollback my settings or anything. has someone got a solution that i could use? i tried clearing for dust. deactivating certain pci slots but i had to leave some open for ram. and it still happened ( pci number 11 and 12) from bios. but my configuration of the settings is mostly guess work atm. and i still cant get it working.

please help!
note: my motherboard is asus A8N-SLI premium and i recently installed nvidia raid controller drivers on it.

also is it possible to get a new hard drive and install windows on it or will it still have problems?

Default Re: system32\DRIVERS\PCI.SYS error

Suggest you try this...

Place the XP Windows Install CD in the CD drive.
Go to the Accessories...Command Prompt
enter: sfc /scannow
There is a space between "c" and "/".
This could take from minutes to hours to run.

This may help:Windows XP problems with damaged or incompatible hardware

But I will look for more information or maybe someone else will come up with an idea.

Are you able to restart the computer and repeatedly tap F8 and choose last known good config or safe mode?

EDIT:Opps sorry Gandalf did not see you there.Would recovery console help?
