Default Google Not Responding

I am having trouble with Google not responding. I have other web links that upload very fast, and a few that do not. Google search being 1 of them. And Hotmail, another. These are 2 links that I use the most. I am operating an Nvidia XFX 680i SLI system with Windows XP Home. I run Symantec Corporate Edition, and also have Spyware Doctor. I have run both of these programs and they both come back clean. I occasionally get this pop up saying I have Trojen Awax, and Symantec deleted it automatically. I also have a problem with my Automatic Updates turning itself off. i go in and check it, and it says it is on. But the shield pops up in me bar and says that it is off. Any help would be great here.

Cheers ~2isted~
