There's only 2 gigs per stick so if one isn't working then it shouldn't read 2.7 gigs.
GPU is Graphics Processing Unit. It's a chip on your Graphics card that looks a lot like a motherboard's northbride or some older CPUs. It is sometimes used synonymously with video card(because it is a nice acronym???).
It is good that at post it shows 4 gb of
RAM. This would indicate that your motherboard recognizes it and can probably use it.
The reason it is showing less than 4 gigs is because Windows XP Pro 32 bit can only use 4 gb of
RAM. You have a total of 4.5 gigs of
RAM(GPU 512mb +
RAM 2gb*2gb = 4.5gb) on your system. However, since you are using XP, it cuts this down to 4gb. It will then take 4gb and minus the 512mb from the video card, which will leave you with 3.5 usable by XP. You should be at 3.5gb. Why you are not is beyond me.
Test each
RAM card individually on your
Mobo and make sure they are in the correct slots for that motherboard.
