I'm using wireless to get internet on my laptop and it registers and says the connection is good.. but then the local connection says a cables unplugged, whats the problem?
There is no problem - as you are connecting wirelessly. The message you are seeing is simply notifying you that there's no cable plugged into the ethernet port on your laptop - which is normal if your connecting by wireless.
To stop this message - Click Start > Control Panel > Network Connections
Right click Local Area Connection > Select Properties
Remove the ticks from Show icon in notification area when connected and notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity.
I didn't realise you were having problems accessing the internet wirelessly - i just thought you were concerned about the message.
Can you access the internet on the laptop when you plug it into the router/modem with ethernet cable? If so can you please do the following with both the ethernet cable connected and the wireless connected.
Click Start > Run > type: cmd > Click OK
at the prompt type: ipconfig /all
