Hi Tim,
Hmmmm...a fresh install would require the input of an Administrator password. We do have a tutorial that covers this predicament: http://www.pchelpforum.com/windows-t...-password.html Any problems, post back...

hiya buddy, you possibly missed my late editing of my original post, but to sum up, there is only one account on the computer, which is an administrator account !, and the computer can be used normally until you want to change the home page away from MSN.com
so i am maybe looking at a virus or hijacking of some sort !!!. tim |

Yup, I did
![]() If it's a fresh install then I doubt you're already suffering from a malware attack. Is this IE6 or IE7?

Ok, 2 things.
1) Are you using SpyBot? If not.... 2) Go to Start > run > type in regedit [and press enter] Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Inte rnet Explorer\Control Panel Change value of "Homepage" from 1 to 0
