Default Laptop constantly re-booting

A friend of mine has a Dell Inspiron 5150 2.8ghz Laptop.
He wants to sell it as having trouble and i may be interested but not sure what could be causing the error.
Basically everytime its switched on it reboots itself ?
As far as im aware from what he has said it is running XP .
So any ideas?

Hi,

At what stage does the laptop re-boot? What is on the screen when it re-boots? Any error messages? More info would help

If I may put my two cents worth in here...

If you want to remove the cmos battery, do not forget:

1. Remove the AC power cable from the Laptop

AND

2. Remove the motherboard battery as well.

Some people forget about removing the motherboard battery and that ain't good.
