I didn't see anywhere to post about digital JPEG photos so I am posting on the XP operating systems because I have a XP.
When I download pictures off of my digital camera to my computer I use FinePixViewer by Fuji (the program came with my camera). I was going to be exploring with my computer so I decided to put my pictures onto photobucket.com as a backup to my pictures. My computer totally crashed (I had to use the restore CD). I lost all of my pictures from my hard drive and I am trying to get all of them back again. I go to photobucket.com and right click on my pictures and save them to my computer. I am kinda anal about having my pictures in order and want them to go back into FinePixViewer, when I save the pictures to my computer I cannot open them in FinePixViewer it says that jpeg. is corrput or saved under incompatible format. The pictures that I saved back onto my computer are also smaller than the original size and the color of the pictures sucks, it just doesn't look like the original.
So my questions are these, how can I save the pictures back into FinePixViewer without them being corrupt and how do I get my saved pictures back to the way they originally looked?
Any response and help will be deeply appreciated!

Hi ckahapea and welcome to PCHF
Are you right clicking the full sized images and downloading them via the save option? Also what browser are you using? |

Yes I am right clicking on them and saving it as save as (I put the pictures under my documents, pictures, and then whatever category they belong in). I have the latest internet explorere and firefox, I tried using both browsers to save it and the same things happens, corrupt or under incomplatible format (only if i use FinePixViewer thought).

I dont use Fax Viewer but they do open up in Windows Picture, they just don't look like the original picture that I had of it though (is this caused by saving it on the internet and then saving it back on to my hard drive, too much saving?).

On Photo Bucket to have this picture back to full size I click on the actual picture so it opens a larger picture window. Then I right click and save it to my computer. This gives you a larger image.
Default pictures on Photo Bucket are JPG so maybe your downloading is corrupting these files. Ok when you click on your album in photot bucket and you see small pictures with links under them? Along the top of each picture is edit/move/tag/share/delete. Click on edit then resize tab and there you can alter size width etc. Have you tried right click on the file on your computer were these pictures are stored and choose "Open With"?

I'm sorry but it doesn't show up in your post where you click to have the pictures back to full size (after you click it to have it back to full size the quality of the picture stay the same or will it look like the original?).
