Turn off hardware acceliration.
IE can run slow or not open if you do not keep temp files etc cleaned out.
Open IE and click on tools/internet options/delete cookies,history and temp files.

Yes it opens in another window,click on download and install Belarcs advisor.
How much free space do you have left on this hard drive?
Could you click on start/all programs/acessories/system tools and use disk cleanup.
When was the last time you cleaned the inside of your computer out?
Could you check inside that all fans are spinning.
I know you say Mac aint picked up any thing but could you possibly do the "Prework" its the link in red below on my signiture.
