A friend of mine was getting rid of his old Laptop and I told him i would take it.Told me he forgot username and password to log on .I am wondering if there is a way to change login and pasword so I can use the laptop or is it worthless to have the laptop is a Compaq EvoN1000c.Hopefully that helps and someone can help me.Thx in advance.

I recommend you install your own copy of Windows.

so basically boot up comp with my own Windows cd and go off that?

Each computer needs to have its own copy of Windows.
Do not use one copy of Windows for two computers.

So I have a different copy of Windows for the laptop.How do I make the comp boot from disc.When I put disc in it does not boot it goes to the password screen.

With the "different" copy of Windows, you boot up off the CD and install Windows onto the laptop.

but like i SAID I CANT SEEM TO BOOT FROM DISC.wHEN I PUT DIsc and restart comp it goes right to the login screen.What do i change to make comp boot from disc?
