I tried both of the aforementioned "windows installs" it listed and they were both H...I didn't see one that read C. I also remember seeing on the computer when I've used it that under my computer it listed several hard drives that were I'm pretty sure completely unusable. I'm pretty sure they just had one that actually worked, and it was C whenever I used it. Computer's pretty messed up, huh?

Yep, looks like it. If he really wants his files - the quickest way your going to fix it is to put the hard drive in your pc and try to get them off that way.

Alright so I have the drive in my computer right now...but I can't access it at all. I tried to right click on it and hit open (after I right clicked, it took about a full minute to load the menu) and when I hit open it said the drive is not formatted, would you like to format it?

Basically, their files are totally inaccessible, right? If there's anything I can do to get them I will, but it seems to me like it may be impossible now.
