Question PC boot up problems

Last PM I was installing PowerISO on my other PC (windows XP OS), when it asked to reboot I clicked yes. It restarted and during boot up went to the error page where it tells you there was a hardware problem or something to that effect and asks to restart in one of 5 modes (regular, safe, safe with networking, safe with command prompt and last known working setting. I have tried restarting it in every mode with it going right back to this same page. Any ideas? I was unsure where to post this. Please help.

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

What OS are you using?

Was this software legal?

Do you have the OS disk?

Windows XP w/SP2, yes it was legal, and yes I have a OS disc but not the original. All I want to do is be able to take all the pictures that I have stored on the HDD off and then completely reformat the drive and start from scratch. I tried to put in another HDD that I have as the master and hooked up the one I am haveing problems with as a slave hoping that I would be able to access the photos and pull them out but it only wants me to format the drive which I am sure will wipe out my stuff.

Hello again.

The computer is asking for the slave drive to be formatted or the replacement drive?
