I'm really angry because my laptop is just wouldn't boot up. I just couldn't figure it so i brought it to doodads and they told me that my hard drive is fried. Not a big deal no info on there i need i have them all backed up to my Net2go Networking site but i do want my laptop to work again. My laptop is Toshiba satellite 1800 it's an older model laptop but i can't afford a new one there like $900-$1300 (well the one i want anyway cause i want it to last) I have an older IBM R30 think pad thats no good for unknown reasons but i scraped the hard drive from it and i tried it and it did the same thing as the fried the hard drive you could hear this one loading though is was like a one loud Click and then it would do a softer faster click and it would repeat exactly the same over and over again until i shut it down. Now that computer wasn't working right in the first place so could it be that hard drive as well could it be my Bois or Hard disk connectors? how could i check if it was these things? Could of been my laptop frying them? thats why i don't want to get a new hard drive until i know it not my laptop frying those hard disks.
Probabaly the controller-chip on the mobo that runs the drives is fried, too.
On an older board it's probably an IDE controller--sorry. I mean-- you could have it assessed-- but it's probably not worth fixing.
