when I start my Windows XP I get the message "no boot.ini starting from c:\windows". Then XP boots. I have tried to start with the cd and go into recovery console and try the bootcfg /rebuild but I get a message saying that it can't find any windows installation. I've also tried fixboot and fixmbr.
So I tried to create a boot.ini and set it up acording to MS:How to edit the Boot.ini file in Windows XP
Code:
[boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
But now I get the message saying that it can't start windows because there is a configuration error on the drive and that it could not read from the startdiskett.
Have I set up the boot.ini wrong or is there anything else that I should do?
