Default How to get past Operating System Error 10 on Packard Bell Computers!

Hello PCHF
this is my first post so i hope this can help some users in the future.

On Packard Bell machines the recovery programm works due to the EXT/HS or TATTOO it is stored in the MBR the HDD and the MOBO and on the MCD, it must be on the HDD for a recovery to take place (if you have installed a new HDD), a normall format (if you are wiping it clean) will not remove this but installing ANY LINUX OS will delete this.

If you go to recover a box will pop up saying Opearting System Error with the number 10 in the title bar.

How to resolve this:
make sure MCD1 is in the drive and type Q:\ and press enter
then type on the Q command prompt:

reloadhs.bat

it will run the command and will say Tattoo completed.

Recovery can now take place

I hope this helps some users in the future.

Lightbulb Packard Bell Recovery Glue Errors.

Hello PCHF sorry in advance if this topic is already on the forum i havn't yet found it.

As i mentioned on my first thread about OS error there is also Glue Part Errors that prevent a Packard Bell Machine being successfully recovered.

Glue Part Errors 1 and 2 relate to the EXT/HS (Mentiond in my last post) refomat these by typing
reloadhs.bat in the Q:\ CMD

Glue Part Error 5 relates to the HDD Format which should be formatted as a single partition as FAT32 with Large disk and NTFS support ON. And MBR and Boot Sectors killed.

Again i hope this helps

We get quite a few requests for Packard-Bell machines so anyone who knows specific tricks for them will be helpful.
Thanks for the tip.
