Default Upgrading to XP, question about OEM.

I'm planning to upgrade my current OS to XP from 2000, but I don't understand what OEM is. I see Windows XP Pro for $359.99 CAD and an OEM version of Windows XP Pro for $139.99. I'm using TigerDirect.ca - Computers, Computer Parts, Computer Accessories, PC Components & Electronics.

My question, what is OEM? The main reason is the big price difference, but I don't want something that I can't use.

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. What you can do with it appears to be quite complicated.

The most significant thing is:
"With an OEM version of Windows the license is permanently tied to the first computer that it is installed on and cannot be legally transferred to a different computer". Legally...
