I just purchased a new computer (Gateway) I do not want to use the Vista that is on it. I cant seem to find out how to get rid of Vista and use my WinXPro. Would appreciate any help on this

In the BIOS menu (Usually F1, F2, or Delete when you first turn on your PC) set the boot priority to CD drive first, then HD. Put the Windows XP cd in and restart, the XP install should start and you can reformat the drive from there...just be aware you will lose everything on the drive and this may void your warranty.

Sorry, let me put it this way, I have a new Computer, if I install my winXP hard drive and unplug the vista one, what problems may I look forward to?

if you have WinXP installed on a seperate HDD and you plug it in to a diffrent computer it will not work as the HDD containing WinXP does not have the correct drivers or settings for your Vista PC you will have to reformat and install a new full retail package. Before 30th June as as you probably know microsoft are ending all packages on that date.

You better look at the downgrade rights as well.
