Thumbs up Re: [Resolved]Router Setup

I just run into a problem setting up the first computer, when I tried to do the " Release and Renew IP address " I went to " run " typed in " cmd " and enter.at DOS prompt i typed ipconfig/release and hit enter.
I got :
connection -specific DNS suffix :
IP Address 0.0.0.0
Sub net Mosh 0.0.0.0
Default Gateway :

I then typed ipconfig/renew and hit enter.
I got :
An erroroccurred whilerenewing interface local area connection : unable to contact your DHCP server . request time out.

At one point i typed in 192.168.0.100 and hit enter and the result was :
192.168.0.100 is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable or batch file.

Please advised what I am doing wrong.?

Hi George,

Jelly Bean asked me to try to help you with this. On the pc that you are problems connecting - please do the following:

click Start > Run > type ipconfig /all

Can you please post back the ip address, default gateway ip and whether it says yes or no for DHCP enabled.

Thumbs up Re: Router Setup

When i run " ipconfig /all " with the router connected i got the following :

Window IP Configuration
Host Name : xx-26gq3734101a
Primary DNS Suffix :
Node Type : unknown
IP Routing Enable : no
Wins Proxy Enable : no
Ethernet adopter local connection
Connection- specific DNS Suffix :
Description : maconix mx98715-Based ethernet adapter ( generic )
Physical Address : 00-80-c6-fa-ea-74
DHCP Enable : yes
Autoconfiguration enable : yes
IP address : 0.0.0.0
Subnet Mask : 0.0.0.0
Default Gateway :
DCP Server : 255.255.255.255

Without the router Connected the IP configuration is the same as above.
but in addition it says :
Media State : media disconnected.
