SDFix is still not doing anything, at least not that I can see. It seems to be just sitting there. It's been probably close to 40 minutes or so. Do you think it's hung up?

Task Manager says it is running, does not indicate that it is not responding. If I try to close it, it says it is in the middle of a process. Guess I'll keep waiting for it to show me the results.

Hello could you update your network driver in device manager.

Could you turn off your modem for 1 minute and then reboot it.

AVG 8 has been known to slow some computers down when you install AVG 8 free version there are patch links in blue on it.Did you install the patch as requested?

Thank you, Pancake!!!

Hi, Jelly Bean!

I tried to update the driver, but it said it could find nothing better than what I already had.

I rebooted my machine (after rebooting the modem, just for good measure). I still have no internet, plus it is doing the same thing as before I went through all the scans and repairs: When I click or double-click on an icon on my desktop or in the taskbar or even by going thru the Start button, the hourglass comes up for about 5 seconds, then goes away, completely ignoring the command. So I'm still stuck with an unusable machine. Where do we go from here?
