I have four comps here, one good one and three others. I would like to set up a home network, which I may have already, but don't have enough snap to realize it. I have a DLINK router, I have Norton 360, which is capable of that, and one comp. is XP, which I guess is also able to network. I have Webroot Childsafe also. Boy am I confused!
I want to be able to share the printer and scanner and files and would like a history of where everybody's been. Can yall tell me how to set this up?
Thanks.
G

ok do you have the PC's all pluged into your DLINK router with network cables? Also what windows is on the other PC's are they all XP
this is how to use the network wizard in XP XP ICS - Starting the Network Setup Wizard it will set the network up for you and after that you can share files and printers Last edited by madmatt2006; 05-09-2008 at 05:51 AM. |

Thanks mat. It ain't gonna work since the other computers are Windows 2000. Now I have the same old problem as many others-- keep putting money in the old computers, (Win XP is about $150.00) or throw away good computers because they just keep falling behind the times.

You can still share the files, printer and scanner with the other pc's. As long as they are all networked correctly it won't be any problem unless the printer and scanner you are using don't have windows 2000 drivers available.
If you already have the pc's networked and they can all see each other please post back and i will post instructions to setup the sharing. If you they aren't already network properly let me know and i'll give you those instructions first. |
