I was just on MSNBC trying to see a news interview. I had to quit and forget it because it would download for 3 seconds and then play for 3 seconds. I have seen a few items that would play through, but not many. I can't see a lot of good stuff that is on the net. This Yahoo downloads at about 330 and uploads at 280. Am I going to have to go to a high dollar service to get to see the internet as it should be?
Thanks
G

That depends on what you have now, Dial-up?
Your specs are low key, that hurts a lot as well. What's your gfx memory? To find this, download Everest Home from here: |MG| EVEREST Free Edition 2.20 Install, run, and click on display, then gpu, and post what it says next to memory size Last edited by Zachary; 05-09-2008 at 04:17 AM. |

Looks like I need to edit my profile. This is a dual core INTEL DQ965GF 200 MEG & 200 MEG MEM. 330 mbps dsl. I didn't realize that yall looked at that before answering the question. I guess it makes sense. The guy that built it for me for $1200.00 said that it is first class but I see a lot of them with dual core selling for $700.00 and I don't know the difference in chips. I told him that I wanted a computer that I wouldn't have to sit around and wait for a video for 5 min. to load up. I have an old throw-down comp. here that does about the same. I was guessing it is the Yahoo is too slow and if that is so ...'that jus ain't right' to advertize how fast it is.
Thanks G

200meg, do you mean 2000meg as in 2GB ram?
What's your ISP, this affects your speed as well |

No not at all, your specs are remarkably similar to the PC in my office (my parent's PC), Dual Core 2.6ghz, 2GB ram, AT&T, and amazingly enough, they have lag issues as well, yet my lower spec PC doesn't, I'm on wireless and they're hard wired to the modem as well, it's a strange issue but one I can't help with.
At first I thought it was your low key specs but that is clearly not the case, the only suggestion I can offer is to use CCleaner to clear out temp files and all that other stuff the internet leaves behind CCleaner - Download When installing make sure to deselect the option to install the Yahoo toolbar |

Thanks for your answers. I haven't tried CCleaner yet but I will. One fellow told me that my DSL is actually a slow one at 330 MB/S and I would have to let go of some money and buy a faster ISP, but I don't think so as I get some good downloads of audio/video sometimes. I'm going to go slow since this seems to be so prevalent that someone may hit me with the answer.
