Try copying it into a different folder, may sound stupid, but sometimes works.

Hmm, have you tried copying it from a different computer?

I've never really heard of that happening when you have plenty of HD space.. I'll start some research, maybe in the meantime someone will have a suggestion you can try

i think ive descrovred the problem.. i was searching yahoo and read this "Max file size on FAT32 is 2 GB. NTFS formatted hard drives do not have this 2 GB limitation." so i checked my hard driv and it is a FAT32 not NTFS and teh file i was trying to copy is 4-4.5GB.. guess that means i cant back up all the recorded media i backed up to dvd and stored as iso images on my old computer to tranfer to this one either as those fils are about 4 GBs too... unles of course i reformatted this HD to NTFS but i really dont wanna reinstall all these programs again lol... though if youre wondring "if you already have them backe dup to dvd then why bother putting them on you pc anyway" well the answer is the cirrent pc doesnt have a DVD drive so my DVDs are worthless on this pc unlss their ein ISO format and mounted to th viryual drive i installed on this omputer

The FAT32 format is significantly inferior to NTSF, I highly recommend converting your drive to NTFS. You don't need to reformat, you can just convert it:

Jelly Bean agrees: I agree just convert

ok it said it couldnt convert and would i like it to do so when the computer reboots.. i clicked yes then restarted then the oc ran checkdsk then teh conversion started determining free space or w/e then it said conversion failed.. i didnt catch why as it flashed across the screen too fast then windows started up like normal... i have well over 300gb free space so that cant be the reason... any idea why i cant convert?

Hello again,so are they large files you are trying to copy?Bigger than 2 gig?

Is there files contained in the the file or folder you are trying to move?

EXAMPLE:Several movies?
