Default PC specs

here are my specs according to belarc (yeah the text format of the attachment sucks but i couldnt upload the html format one).

i was wondering if theres any upgrades tat need to be made to my pc and maybe some suggestions.. Im not looking for top of the line, "just came out yesterday" upgrade standards but at least good quality for todays standards thatll run most pograms at a good rate. for example i have 256mb of RAM in my pc now that much i know 256MB ram in a PC at this day an age is pretty outdated My RM should be at LEAST 1gig... so any other changes to my pc that should be made? graphics card? sound card? etc

I notice i have a P4 processor while its not the number 1 intel pocessor out on the market right now (im sure plenty of new ones have been released since P4 was introduced) P4 is still good enough to run most games and programs so Im not too woried about updating that

Hey antoine,

Yep 256mb is a little low.

What tasks do you perform on your PC, graphic design, video editing, gaming e.t.c?

lol to be honest i would recommend upgrading your RAM and GFX card.
i'd say atleast 512MB RAM but, i would recommend 1GB atleast just to be sure.

Hopefully, someone else will be more specific

Definately 1gb, or more.

From what I can tell from your PC Spec's, you have an AGP slot onboard your motherboard. This means that you won't be able to get the best PCI-Express cards that are out without swapping out your motherboard and CPU as well. The best AGP graphics card I'm aware of is a Geforce 7800gs, which you can buy for around £150.

Your other PC's specs are reasonable, but if you have the cash, and your thinking of upgrading more than just you memory and graphics card, I would recommend purchasing a new base unit instead. You'll most likely find this cheaper these days, easier and compatibility issues are less likely with a system that has come off a production line, rather than a system that has never been built before.
