Smile [Answered] 32 bit or 64 ?

I have a fairly old PC (running XP) and thought I'd check out the new PCs @ Best Buy. My current is fine, so certainly in no hurry for a new PC.
Anyways, I was asking the salesman the Diff between Core 2 Duo and Quad core. Still not sure which one I would choose.
But then I asked about my programs I have on my current PC, which is a 32 bit (probably like most home XP machines), he said with the new PC's running 64 Bit, many if not all of my current programs won't run on a Vista machine. Is this true? If I do get a Vista , it would be the Premium.

Your welcome.

However things like your virus scanner/spyware will work.

Depending on what software you are going to try and reinstall there maybe updates/patches ect so they may go on Vista.

I tried the Vista Upgrade Advisor - the newest version- and I get a msg. There is an error running the Advisor and to install the latest version. Way to go Microsoft!
