The Nvidia is your graphics card. In device manager look under Sound, video and game controllers. Post back audio items are listed there.
Try this for mouse problem:

Click Start > Run > type: cmd > click OK.

At the prompt type: sfc /scannow
It may take a while to complete. You will need your windows cd handy in case it needs to fix any files.

For Sound, the following is what's listed:
Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
SoundMax Integrated Digiital Audio
Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device
Video Codecs

I ran scannow. I did not ask for the windows xp cd, as I guess their were no problems found.

I seemed to have fixed this problem myself.

I have a Dell Dimension 9300, running Windows Xp SP2
I had deleted my rpcss, from my services in regedit, thinking that it was infected with a virus.
The problem I was having was no audio, update.exe was not working, I couldn't drag & drop, windows would disappear when I would minimize them. There was a lot of problems, to say the least.

I fixed this by checking the values in the regedit for the rpcss. I had another pc running the same Windows Xp SP2. I compared the two and noticed a drastic difference. So I tried to fix it myself.

Start > Run> regedit
Once in Registry Editor:
My Computer > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Services > RpcSs

Right-Clicked RpcSs and added the missing key values and such.

Now everything seems to work great.

Thanks to all the help you both provided!!! and the information provided in other topics.

Thanks!
