Can anybody help. When i boot up my pc tells me that i have a missing or corupt cp_437.nsl file. I have tried to repair windows using the setup disc but to no avail. I cannot use windows on my c drive and i cannot access any files. I have resorted to installing windows on my d drive so i can access web to get help.I really need to fix windows on my c drive. Can anyone please point me in the right direction. I think it may be the registry but how can i fix this from d drive. Please somebody help.

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

Firstly what operating system are you using?XP or ME?

Or did you origonalt have ME installed?

Did you reformat so the D drive was main hard drive?

When you reboot/restart your computer do you have a choice menu of operating system to log onto?

Open a command prompt window.
Start | Run | Type: cmd | OK

Insert your XP CD into the drive and enter the following (Copy and Paste)
command:
EXPAND -R X:\I386\c_437.nl_ C:\WINDOWS\system32\c_437.nls

NOTE :
Change X to = your CD drive letter

Or enter Bios set first boot to CD rom put in XP disk and run recovery console for C drive.

Or How to recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP from starting
