clean the cd?

You are using the original Windows XP Setup CD George?

OK George, I think you may need to step back and review the following:

1) Boot order - ^ confirmed above.
2) It's a true Windows XP Setup CD.
3) The CD is original, clean and unscratched.
4) The drive itself is clean and in working order?

^ apart from these items, the is absolutely nothing that will prevent that CD from starting up, apart from hitting any key when/if prompted.
