Smile [Resolved] Startup problem after Auslogics BoostSpeed use

Hi,

System
I don't think this will matter, but it's about a FS with 3,6 GHz Pentium 4 CPU, 1 GB RAM, 2*150 GB HDD. Will add more if i know it and it is needed / requested.

Overview
My currently 4 years old stationary PC with Windows XP has slowed down quite a lot during the last year, and as a result i ran some Auslogics software (registry cleaner, disk cleaner, registry defrag, disk defrag, tweak manager, etc), but the next time i tried to start the computer, I faced some serious issues.

As i don't know the exact reason why this happens, I'll just desciribe what happens closely. I believe the Auslogics software was the reason, but I also installed DivX for Windows for viewing videos the same day.

I also use AVG combined with Comodo for security, but I can't imagine that causing such an error?

Description
Starting PC, and the following happens:

This loading takes a lot longer than usual, and stops for almost a minute at what is displayed in the picture.

This happens just as usual, a little white line blinking for a while.

Normal Windows loading screen, nothing unusual.

This is the part i believe is the interesting one. There are two differences from the normal startup.

1. The resolution is notably different. I think this is 800*600, while i think my monitor's resolution is 1280*960.

2. Windows does neither respond to mouse nor keyboard usage.

I am sorry I couldn't provide any more specific presentation of the problem, but I simply do not know where to start. Having to rent professional help is simply very expensive, and I'd rather use that money for some hardware updates...

Help very much appreciated,
Ted

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.
.
You ran a registry cleaner?

Have you got the operating disk?

I would either try a system restore to before you installed this software and see if that helps out.

Or a repair using operating system disk or run recovery console using disk.

operating disk this is the disk usaly supplied with a computer that has the operating system on so you can reinstall your XP or Vista etc.Do you have this disk?

Sytem restore is under administrator options.

Click start/all programms/accessories/admin tools/system restore.

Choose a date to before you used this software.
