Question [Resolved] nv4_disp.dll BSOD

hi there

recently i have installed UEFA Euro 08.
i installed the game as usual and ran it....after a few minutes it would crash to the desktop and show the "Just - In - Time Debugger" and announcing that euro08.exe has caused a win32 exception.
i contacted EA Support about this problem and told them that this was happening with NBA Live 2008 aswell..
i noted that this problem suddenly appeared and that i had no problem in playing NBA Live.

anyways they sent a response with some solutions...one of them being reducing the hardware acceleration for sound...none of those solutions fixed the problem

the last solution they gave me was to update my graphics drivers....so i did

since then, i have been receiving BSODs telling me the nv4_disp.dll caused a problem
these BSODs seem to be pretty random, i can play for a few minutes and receive a blue screen or i can play for a full hour and no blue screen would appear.

hence the updated drivers caused BSODs i rolled back to the previous driver(which didnt cause any problems) but the BSODs continued to show up

lastly i tried to completely uninstall the driver via Add/Remove and by using Driver Cleaner.
after the uninstall i installed the updated driver once again, but the blue screens still show up

this also happens with NBA Live 08. however this does not happen with FIFA 08

i hope you can help

p.s i have uploaded the save dump and dxdiag

thx

Hi Dude,

Thanks for the detailed info there. Can you also fill in your PC spec's, click on Quick Links followed by Edit Options.

That's quite an old card there to be running next gen games Dude, I would personally recommend nothing less than a 6600, although they are playable according to EA. I've checked out your logs, and it seems that the installed driver is attempting to perform a task which is not supported by your card. The driver was most likely released for the newer FX 5 series cards. Rolling back to an earlier version of the driver will resolve your BSOD issues.

Try this one: http://212.159.118.54/pchf/77.77_winxp2k.exe
