]Just had my pc formated and now when i go to click on my ex hard drive it opens up with Choose a program you want to open this file with, If i do browse and go to windows explorer is opens like how i want it to. Just that when i come back to open the hard drive again i ask what program i want to use and i have to browse through again to find WE. I can't check the box to auto pick WE to open the hard drive everytime.

Any ideas anyone?

Hello Billy,In the drives properties is it set to auto run?Locate the drive and check it there.Right click on the drive in question once you opened my computer and scroll to properties.If auto run is checked then uncheck it.

When i do go to properties, the tab auto play i select what action i want to be done with the drive. But everytime i come back to open the hard drive it ask me again what program i want to use :s

Are you clicking apply when unchecking the box?

Try this:

To get to the configuration screen for this setting, go to Start Menu \ Run and type in:gpedit.msc click ok.

You will see the Group Policy window. You should select Administrative Templates \ System in the tree view:



You will see an item in the right side pane called "Turn off Autoplay"



Double click the item, and set the radio button to Enabled, and change the "Turn off Autoplay on" to All Drives.



Now you should be safe from the autoplay monster.

There is't a box to tick, just select WE is the option i want to use and then ok.
