usually when there is an unmountable boot disk that deals with the hard drive. running a repair with the windows install disc will try to fix the the OS. if it doesnt then you'll need to get a new hard drive. that cost anywhere from $20 for a 40 gb to $80 for 160gb hard drive.

in recovery console try fixboot and fixmbr commands
