Default Two computers, two problems: Blue screens of death and slowdown.

The first computers specs:
Windows XP Service Pack 2
AMD Athlon 1.8 GHZ. processor
512 MB of Ram.
Brand new Western Digital 150 Gig hard drive.
Brand new e-GeForce 6200 LE video card.
640 Wat Fan.
Recently reformatted freshly, ram checked with diagnostics.

Problem: Random blue screens of death
(IRQL_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL) occur at random when using the computer . No specific trigger. After blue screen windows fails to boot numerous times restarting right before windows loading screen. I've tried taking out the video card, switching out ram and testing it, running diagnostics on the hard drive, fixing the pagefile. Nothing seems to work I've never had this particular error.

Second computer:
Windows SP 2
Pentium 3.0 GHZ processor
2.0 MB Of Ram
New 250 Gig Western Digital Hard Drive.
e-GeForce 6200 LE Video Card.

Computer has extreme slow down upon start up. Boots fine into safe mode. Looked at the system logs to find over 2000 I/O write errors to the hard disk. Runs fine in safe mode. Ran ram diagnostics. Works great in safemode. Any ideas to save the hassle of a reformat?

That error usually refers to a hardware issue
Your PC is clearly older, you might want to make sure your new hardware is supported by it. I had an issue with a compaq that was unable to support a hard drive bigger then 180gb, so it can be anything
Another issue could be the gfx card, if it's AGP 8x (I'm assuming it's agp by your specs) and your board doesn't support that (It's AGP1x, 2x, or 4x max) that could cause issues as well. Or it could be the ram, I know you tested it but the ram itself may not be faulty, but could just be conflicting with your motherboard. Where did you get it from?

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL normally points to bad RAM, drivers or conflicting hardware.

Have a look in event viewer for the event log and see if that tells you anything.

It might be a good idea to run System File Checker.

I appreciate your problem is not the same, but the error code points towards a corrupt or missing file.
