Default [Answered] Computer did not come with windows disk

Hi,

I've got Windows XP Media center 2005 on my computer, but my dad got the computer as a floor model, so basically nothing came with it.

I want to reinstall windows, and I don't want to go back to XP home (which i do have a disc for), but my computer never came with the XP media center edition disc.

Is there some way that I can ask Microsoft for a new media center edition disc?
The last time i attempted to get support from Microsoft (as impossible as it is), they never replied about my query regarding this.

Also, we bought a computer that had Vista on it, so naturally I want to get rid of Vista. So is it legal and possible to install Media Center on a computer that came with Vista, and use my SONY media center key with an ACER computer?

you will not have licensing to swap operating systems if they have been activated. You will need to source media centre elsewhere and your your key (should be on a sticker) if not we can link you to a program that will find it

Well firstly as for the media center disk can you not borrow an OEM version from some one not a retail?

Vista can be uninstalled using the Vista DVD.
Yes you can rid yourself of Vista no law against that.

But cheack you can actualy obtain the drivers required to run this computer. Are XP drivers available to download?

However you are not supposed to install any operating system with one single key.It is supposed to be one key one pc.

To obtain a media center pc you could try askin g the place were you bought it,if the PC is still under warranty then maybe contact the manufacturer of said computer they may send you a disk free of charge
