Well, not really, if the same space on the drive hasn't been overwritten, then it's possible that any previous data can be retrieved using a recovery tool such as R-Studio. If you are worried about the previous contents, then using something like kill disk, which I believe fills the drive with 0 binary bits / zero's, and effectively overwriting every byte of information that was on the disk... just some more food for thought.

Madmonkey, if you want to get technical, it is possible to retrieve data that has been written over. But, if I told you how, I'd have to kill you...
