Well, not really, if the same space on the drive hasn't been overwritten, then it's possible that any previous data can be retrieved using a recovery tool such as R-Studio. If you are worried about the previous contents, then using something like kill disk, which I believe fills the drive with 0 binary bits / zero's, and effectively overwriting every byte of information that was on the disk... just some more food for thought.
