I did what you said however when I tried seraching for I386 on this computer, I got different sections. One is in C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache, and two more in C:\WINDOWS\system32 and C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups. Which one am I supposed to copy?

Is there another way to get these files since two other members in family got a cpu, but their was installed with Vista.

problem is you will need the same version thats installed on your laptop IE XP home oem without any media your options are not encouraging

I didn't look carefully at your last post, somehow there are about 29 reinstall backups folders and there a file named snti386.dll. While I waited for an reply, I searched the net and so far I only found one way that probably might have to do with the link you posted earlier.

do a search for winnt32.exe if the folder exists that file will be in it
