I've run XP Pro on 128mb before and it ran great, but if possible you want to go with the max ram you can have. If W2K was the original OS on your PC I can't imagine that being more than 512mb

This will be for a computer I keep in a summer rental property I manage. I upgraded the RAM memory last year so I know it has at least 512M. I asked about upgrading to XP professional because I understand that upgrades from W2K can only be to XP Pro.

the main uses of the computer are to provide email and a wireless network for renters of the summer property.

And thanks for the replies.

Actually from W2K you can upgrade to XP Home or Vista, but for you I'd recommend XP
I'm not a Vista fan.......
